College Football - Week 11 - Only five unbeaten teams left, BCS Penn State ends Iowa title hopes

There are only five undefeated teams left in Division 1-A football and Penn State is not one of them. The perfect record includes 5 Alabama (10-0), Texas Tech (10-0), Boise State (9-0), Utah (10-0) and Ball State (9-0).

Joe Paterno Nittany Lions went to 9-0 and climbed to number 3 in the AP Top 25 Poll, before traveling to Iowa on Saturday (08.11.08) and a 24-23 loss to the Hawkeyes on a yard-31 goal the field with a second left.

Iowa State

Daniel Murray, who haddoes not have a field goal of the season opening race in Iowa and lost his Job, a freshman, finally, a second chance. Murray had done your homework kick-off, but when it was windy playing conditions and the need for experience, Coach Kirk Ferentz beat Murray.

Murray is a hole in the center and enthusiasts Iowa 's freeze went berserk, flooding the area in wild exciteMent. It 'was because Penn State blew a 9 point lead in the fourth quarter. Iowa has won the lastFourth 10-0. The Hawkeyes were supported by Shonna Greene for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing, and Ricky rooms on 15-of-25 passing for 171 yards.

The victory was Iowa's largest in years and the first against a Top 5 team since 1990. The Hawkeyes improved their record to 6-4 eligible, always bowl. The Hawkeyes' four losses this year were a total of 12 points. Last week they lost to Illinois, left on a 46-yard field goal with 24 seconds. This week was my turn with a winlast second field goal.

Opportunity to compete in the Penn State national championship game evaporated. The kiss of death for Penn State was the fact that Iowa has been at Penn State was unranked team and play on the road. The Nittany Lions new goals is a Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl berth will be New Year's Day.

Played for the first time this season, all of my AP Top 25 Poll teams, winning the 25 teams with 17 victories and five major winners include havingteams played elsewhere. These include:

# 1 Alabama on the road than No 15 LSU in overtime, 27-21, with the star quarterback John Parker Wilson scored on a 1-yard hidden. The Crimson Tide had a chance to play in regulation time to win, but a 29-yard Leigh Tiffin field goal attempt was low and blocked.

LSU was the first crack in overtime, but also gave away a chance for a field goal, his fourth when Jarrett Lee interception and threw to third parties was included in the game TimesAlabama Rashad Johnson, who tied a school record in the process. The Tide failed to try another field goal after losing twice, and Wilson must be hidden somewhere in the Alabama SEC Championship Game.

No. 2 Texas Tech at home over No. 8 Oklahoma State, 56-20, as the Red Raiders scored touchdowns on seven consecutive possessions.

No. 7 Southern Cal at home No more than 21 California, 17-3, in an impressive display of defense. The victory was the sixth only for theTrojans are beaten their opponents 231-23 since losing 27-21 to Oregon State 25 point favorite. This is the Trojan horse to ever lose a game, an unranked team, of course, they wake up later in Hollywood.

No. 10 Utah at home over No. 11 Texas Christian in a squeaker, 13-10. Utah went 9-0 and rose to No. 10, playing one of the weakest schedules west of the Mississippi River. The Utes are the Mountain West Conference, TCU, and if they had played, would noTAGainst a quality team of Speech worth having, are still with BYU's last game.

No. 19 of North Carolina at home over No. 22 Georgia Tech, 28-7, scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Twelve other top-25 ranked teams defeated their opponents, including:

No. 4 Florida on the road over Vanderbilt, 42-14, as Tim Tebow threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more. The Gators won the SEC Eastern Division title and the SEC Western Division champions for the face Alabama SEC Championship.

No. 5 of Texas at home over Baylor, 45-21, as Longhorn Colt McCoy threw for 300 yards and five TD. No. 6 Oklahoma on the road at Texas A & M in a simple router, 66-28. No. 9 Boise State at home over Utah State, 49-14, as Kellen Moore threw 362 yards and 2 TDs. No. 12 Ohio State on the road over Northwestern, 45-10, as terrell Prior threw for three points and Chris "Beanie" Wells added two more on the ground.

No. 13 Missouri at home over Kansas> State, 41-24, as Jeremy Maclin scored three touchdowns and posted 278 all-purpose yards. No. 14 Georgia on the road over Kentucky, 42-38 to get the go-ahead TD pass from Matthew Stafford to AJ Green to play with 1:54 left. No. 16 Ball State at home over Northern Illinois 45-14. No. 17 Brigham Young (BYU) at home for a 1-9 San Diego State team 41-12.

No. 18 Michigan State at home over Purdue, 21-7, as Javon Ringer scored twice and the defense did spartansome great third down stop. No. 24 Florida State at home over Clemson, 41-27, Coach Bobby Bowden's birthday at 79 (yes, the boy 79 and still coaching), and after the dismissal of Tommy Bowden as Clemson head coach's son last month. No. 25 Pittsburgh at home over Louisville, 41-7, the Panthers are four cardinal points scores for sale.

The seven top 25 teams losing, as well as No 3 Penn State, which lost to teams not ranked are:

No. 20 West Virginia at homeCincinnati 26-23 in overtime. West Virginia is one of those teams that can not endure, prosperity, they were inside and outside the AP Top 25 all season. No. 23 of Maryland because of Virginia Tech, 23-13.

For 8 teams lost in the AP Top 25 this week, more or less legendary coach Lou Holtz is said: "When all is said and done, more is said than done."

If the new AP Top 25 poll released Sunday 4 teams were missing, West Virginia, California, Georgia Tech and Maryland.Replacing them were two new teams-No. And No. 22 Cincinnati And No. 23 Oregon State 2 teams behind. 24 South Carolina (the fighting cocks on the left after the first week of the poll) and No. 25 Tulsa (Golden Hurricane came into the eighth week were expelled last week and is back this week).

In other games you notice this week:

Boston College shut out Notre Dame 17-0 at home in their annual "Catholic Bowl" game.

A team from Western Michigan 8-2 Mid-American growing statureConference organized and beat Illinois in the Big Ten, 23-17.

A 4-5 Wyoming team has hosted the Mountain West Conference and beat Tennessee in the Southeastern Conference, 13-7. It can lower Tennessee Valley? Some fans believe that this result was read three times is true.

New Mexico State beat Hawaii 42-30 shy of its record of 5-5 and win a bowl eligibility as well.

East Carolina became bowl eligible win their 6, to win an extension of Marshall,19-16.

That's it. That's all. I'm from here. Four more weeks and the regular season is over, the bowl season and finish a couple of big-time winners are important to collect money for their football programs. A couple of bowl games will be great, just do not know what.
